When I founded the Sanctuary, I knew it was going to be my life’s work. I also knew that many of the residents we have committed to taking in and providing for life could very well outlive myself – not to mention the birds we commit to in the years ahead. The Sanctuary goes beyond just myself. The Sanctuary is designed to operate as such even when I no longer can.
For the past 5 years, we have been fortunate enough to meet many of the goals we have set for ourselves. I attribute that to not only a dedicated group of Directors and Volunteers who pour their hearts and energy into the Sanctuary, but also to our faithful donors who continue to support our efforts to rescue and provide care for our feathered friends!
I’d like to introduce a new program that I hope you will consider joining. It’s called Perry’s Angels – a group of donors who commit to making monthly donations to help us meet our monthly expenses. Are you an annual contributor? A Lifetime of Care participant? Or do you sponsor a bird here? As an example – if your budget allows for a $600 donation for the year to the Sanctuary – would you consider breaking it up into monthly contributions of $50?
There are 3 ways to contribute. We are requesting that monthly donors please do so on the first of the month if at all possible (this will help with accounting).

- A credit card donation can be made through the Google donation button on the homepage of our website
- For the fully automatic option – we can give you our bank routing and account number for you to set up automatic donations through your financial institution
A list of participants in Perry’s Angels will appear on our Facebook page (unless you choose to have your name unlisted). No amounts will be listed. On the 1st of every month, you will receive an email from myself which will include a recent photo of a bird (or birds) here at the Sanctuary. The goal is to reach a total of $5,000 in monthly commitments by the end of 2011. I hope you find our work and the birds in our care worthy of your support. No amount is too small – it all adds up to bring us closer to the goal!
