When we were contacted about this sweet girl by a shelter in Southern Virginia, we knew we had to help her out. Lola had given up on life. She was taken from the wild many years ago and bred extensively. She is in her 40s from what we know. When she arrived at Project Perry, she was very quiet and nervous which is to be expected. There was no light in her eyes, her voice remained a mystery, and her zest for life wasn't there. Over the course of a few weeks it all changed. She loves life!
Quasi is a Blue Front Amazon and was wild-caught. He was rescued from a 20 bird neglect case.
Homer is a Spectacled Amazon. Cute as can be. He is here on Lifetime of Care. He is a cutie who loves flying and perching in the sunlight.
Tupac is a wild caught Orange Wing who was rescued from a cruelty case. He is an amazing flyer and can not stand being caged.
Baxter is here via rescue from Soft Landings Parrot Rescue. Baxter is very old from what we can see, and he's been through so much. We are so glad that Baxter is here to live out the rest of his life. He has a wonderful and dedicated sponsor even before he arrived. Thank you MaryAnn!
Belle is here on Lifetime of Care. She is Yellow-Nape Amazon. She is in her 40's. She is sweet and enjoys humans near her in the aviary on her terms. She comes across as very "sophisticated". She is a joy to have here at Project Perry. Her owners, Pete and Susan Boisseau have graciously accepted our request to add her to our birds available for sponsorship. She has recently bonded to Opie. They are almost inseparable. <3
Opie is at the sanctuary on Lifetime of Care. He's about 40 years old. He was well loved and cared for. Opie has recently met Belle and they are next to inseparable! <3
Albert was rescued from a Texas Bird Mill Seizure Case involving 1,000 birds. He is a precious guy.
Cecil is a Yellow Crown Amazon and Ozzy is a Red Lored Amazon. They were both adopted out a long time ago when Project Perry had an adoption program but had to return. Before they came here the first time, they were former pets.
