It that time again.... Christmas in July!

It will be matched up to the $10,000 Goal!

That means:

A $25 donation is $50 in total.

A $50 donation is $100 in total.

A $500 donation is $1,000 in total.

A $1,000 donation is $2,000 in total... and so on!

This year we are fundraising for a little more.  We are transparent with our supporters so let’s get you all up to date.  The BIGGEST reason is due to the cost of energy going up.  The electric bill for the birds has gone up quite a bit.  This year had been colder than normal to start the year, and then it got HOT.  The fans are running non-stop.  Even into the early evening even way after sunset.    The heaters ran non stop while it was cold… but it is 100% worth it because it means the birds are safe and comfortable…. Ahem… spoiled.

Then last week while it was hotter than the gates of hell here… our planned future expense was pushed on us way before we were planning for it… the main house A/C went out.  The elder, medicated, handicapped birds live in the house, and the main house A/C also helps to pick up the slack for the handicapped/elderly birds in the middle room (bird room) of the house.  It was a very uncomfortable 85 degrees with absurd humidity in the house for the past few days.  Fans have made it bearable, and everyone is safe and… comfortable enough.

The new A/C unit certainly pushes us back on our financial planning but the bird’s money we have set aside for emergencies has been hit rather hard.  We’d like to have that replenished before (God forbid anytime soon) we are hit with another situation like this.

After 20 years of the build, this house has needed quite a bit of renovations we were able to plan for.  The main A/C that came with the house was a cheap builder’s grade unit and failed a few years after the house was built.  The unit that replaced that A/C unit is 16 years old and though it was time to have it replaced, we hoped it wouldn’t fail during the hottest part of the year.  HAHA.  Isn’t that how it always happens?  You never get a flat tire on a beautiful day… it’s always raining, snowing, cold, or super hot.

So, please consider donating anything you’re able to our 2026 Christmas in July Fundraiser!

Thanks!!  Xoxo
